Things to do during “Quarantine”


Is it self-Quarantine, self-isolation or social distancing?

During these difficult times, it is required that we keep our distances, stay at home, avoid physical interactions, and unnecessary outings.

As inconvenient and hard as that might be, we are lucky; Humans have survived wars, famines and other global pandemics in which they faced hunger, and suffered physically and emotionally.

 We brought you a list of  things that you could do during this “quarantine” :

1-Meditation.

Stay physically and mentally active at home by doing yoga; Yoga provides you with techniques of controlling the body and mind, meditative means of discovering dysfunctional perception and cognition, as well as overcoming it. 

It also maintains inner peace which is needed to handle situations that are happening nowadays. You don’t have to do yoga however, any physical exercises or workouts are fine.

So go ahead and give it a try.

2-More time with your family.

Our days are usually crowded with tasks, work, and various responsibilities.

The constant feeling of being in a hurry can create a barrier between you and your loved ones.

You may use this time as an opportunity to strengthen the bond with your family.

Whether through talking, having fun activities at home, sitting together around the television or discussing certain topics or remembering old memories. Family is important.

3-Read more books.

Reading a book might have been way down the list of our priorities; There were many excuses, the most common one was the full schedule of the day.

But now, there is spare time for you to read that book which you always wanted to read but never had the time to.

4-Improve your skills.

 Well, quarantine can be a transformational phase regarding your skills.

For sure, everyone at some point in his life wanted to gain a specific skill, but due to an overloaded life schedule, they couldn’t.

A variety of online courses are offered for free right now.
Professional and qualified institutions are offering academic courses in every major, music learning and even home workouts. So make sure you revisit your bucket list.

5-Watch TED Talks.

TED offers countless interesting TED and TEDx talks in all the fields that one could think of, you can always check their website, youtube channels or social media pages and start learning more about topics you’re interested in and getting to know new ideas.

6-Enjoy your time.

You can take a break from life just for yourself. Take your vitamins, workout, get rid of the unhealthy habits,  generally take care of your health, physically and mentally. 

Listen to your favourite music when you wake up, watch a movie you love, spend time with your pet, take a break and enjoy social media, cook your favorite meal and do what makes you happy.

And remember, it’s okay to be unproductive, it’s normal to feel sad. Cut yourself some slack and remember that you’re not alone in this, it’s understandable that you might just want to take a break from everything, and that’s okay.

Reach out to your friends. Social distancing only concerns the physical part. Call your friends, family and loved ones and if you ever feel like you need help, don’t hesitate to ask for it.
